Q: My parish has opted to transfer the parish feast day (an optional memorial on the General Roman Calendar) to the nearest Sunday in Ordinary Time. Is it permissible to substitute the Sunday Mass readings with suggested selections from the Common of Pastors for this saint’s feast (and choose a Second Reading) or do we have to use the readings in the lectionary for that particular Sunday? As a follow up question, can we use all of the proper prayers for this saint’s memorial on a Sunday in Ordinary Time (including the Preface of Holy Pastors), as if we were celebrating this Mass on a weekday in OT?
Thank you for your time, Father Paul.

Everything transfers to Sunday if you choose to move it.
