Q: Not a question, but a comment on the latest post concerning Funeral Vigils. When I am asked to preside at a Funeral Vigil (actually, I am asked to lead the Rosary – no one has ever asked me to conduct a Funeral Vigil), I do the Vigil for the Deceased. In place of the homily, I lead a Rosary. I have a worship aid made up so that the people may follow along. It seems to me that the Church has given us these meaningful prayers for the deceased and they should be used. The families always appreciate this. The rosary is a customary expectation and that’s why I include it.

A: Thanks. I suggest one tiny adjustment. Give the homily. Then insert the rosary ahead of the prayers of intercession.
