Q: What color vestments should you wear for a Quincenera? Since it is not a sacrament, do you wear the color of the day? Or should it be white? I can’t seem to find the guidelines for this.

A: The USCCB has an Order for the Blessing on the Fifteenth Birthday. It allows the blessing to take place within or outside of Mass. Depending on the liturgical day, the Mass for Giving Thanks to God, no. 49 from the Masses for Various Needs and Occasions, may be used, which would appropriately use white or a festive color. However, if it takes place at some other Mass, like a parish Mass in Ordinary Time, or on some occasion, such as the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, then the Mass of the day with its color prevails. See GIRM 347.
