Q: Is it permissible to bake bread for Eucharist; if so, do you have an acceptable recipe.
===
A: Yes, you may bake bread for the eucharist. In fact, GIRM 320 says that the bread we use should be “recently made.” But the recipe is only two ingredients: wheat flour and water. That’s it. No salt, no honey, no raisins. It’s very hard to bake edible bread. That’s one reason why we continue to use hosts baked in special ovens. They just work better, even though they resemble crackers more than bread.
