Q: I was taught that there should be a candle by the tabernacle lit at all times. Is this wrong?

A: Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharistic Mystery outside Mass says, “Near the tabernacle, in which the Most Holy Eucharist is reserved, a special lamp should shine continuously to indicate the presence of Christ and to honor it. In accordance with traditional custom, the lamp should be fueled by oil or wax” (no. 11).
