Q: In a nearby parish the DRE leads all the preparation for the catechumenate. There is no team.
I am wondering if there is encouragement for the formation of a catechumenate team as a part of the faith formation that would come from later documents either from Rome or from the USCCB or elsewhere. Is the formation of a catechumenate team a common but not essential practice?

A: RCIA 9 calls initiation “the responsibility of all the baptized.”
RCIA 75 shows four different ways of considering catechesis, all of which involve the community.
RCIA 122 speaks of all the different people involved with the discernment of a person’s readiness for the initiation sacraments.
