Q: I just purchased a used copy of your book, Glory in the Cross after reading the reviews. I believe it will make planning the liturgies for Holy Week easier.
I am the Initiation Team Leader and Liturgy Chair at our Parish in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. This year, I scripted the Rite for the celebration of Baptism 566 through 594. (With the presider’s approval, the deacon also inserted a copy of the text of #594 in the RM because the words are so relevant and beautiful) I believe that some parts that are in the 2024 OCIA book are not in the Roman Missal 3rd edition. On the FDLC’s listserv, it was suggested that best practice would be: Roman Missal for the liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist; OCIA text for the Celebration of Baptism. Please comment on this. I thank you in advance.

Q: Thanks for getting my book.
You are correct that OCIA 566 through 594 is the proper reference for the Easter Vigil when celebrating the combined rites. And yes 594 needs to be accounted for—either with an inserted page to the missal or by setting the OCIA on the altar for the presider. That paragraph is in “these or similar words,” so he is free to modify them or create his own introduction to communion.
