Eucharistic Procession before 4:30 Mass

Q: Normally we do a Eucharistic Procession on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ after Saturday evening Mass. However, for other reasons, there is a large Potluck dinner right after Mass that will interfere with the procession, or vice versa. So, we’re discussing having the Procession prior to Mass.

In reading HCWEMOM, 103-108, I envision the Procession ending with Benediction 15 minutes prior to the Mass beginning, and the two celebrations are completely separated. Or, is there a way to flow from the Procession right into the Mass?

I appreciate your thoughts on this.

A: I would keep those events separate as you have suggested for the reasons you note. Then go back to their proper order next year if you can—maybe with potluck at the end.
