Q: Much appreciation for your advice as well as your blogs on liturgy. They are resources which we, the people involved in Liturgy refer to when we are in doubt or need edification – lay and religious alike.
My question is whether a funeral service can be held on Maundy Thursday or on one of the days of the Triduum. What does one do when a person passes away during one of those days when funeral Masses are not allowed? Can a kind of liturgy( example a service) be held like in the place of the wake or at the Crematorium? Please advise.
Blessed Lent to you!

A: Funeral masses may be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week, but not on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. On those days we celebrate the Funeral Liturgy Outside Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals.
Thanks for your comments on my work.
