Organ postlude at a funeral

In 2021 you were asked about an organ postlude at a funeral and responded: “The Widor Toccata makes a fine postlude for Easter. I’m hesitant to add it to a funeral. But there’s no rule against it.”  https://paulturner.org/funerals/

I think I have found rules against it. Ceremonial of Bishops, n. 41: “… in celebrations for the dead, the organ and other instruments should be played only to sustain the singing.” This is also conveyed in n. 824 (funerals) and n. 397 (All Souls). The last of these refers to the 1967 Instruction Musicam Sacram: “66. The playing of these same instruments as solos is not permitted in Advent, Lent, during the Sacred Triduum and in the Offices and Masses of the Dead.”

Thanks for sharing these references. FWIW the missal does not make the same restrictions in GIRM 313 or 379.
