Place of repose

Q: Could you expand on your response at https://paulturner.org/altar-of-repose-2/ .

The Roman Missal refers to a “place of repose” rather than an “altar of repose”.

Rubric 39 of the Mass of the Lord’s Supper says there is a tabernacle at the place of repose.

Good Friday, rubric 22, has: “brings the Blessed Sacrament back from the place of repose by a shorter route”.

How can a second place of reservation in the sacristy be consistent with these rubrics?

A: I took the question to mean that the side altar made a better place of repose for a group desiring to participate in adoration, and that moving the ciborium to the sacristy directed more attention to the cross when the group reconvened in the church on Good Friday.
