Preaching while sitting – updated

Q: I really appreciate all of the information you provide on your blog and
via email.

Regarding: https://paulturner.org/preaching-while-sitting/

I believe the Bishop can give a priest (or deacon?) permission to preach
while sitting, although it is not normally done. We have a number of
priests in our diocese who cannot stand for extended periods
of time. They will sit to preach and generally do not distribute
Communion except to the deacon who is assisting.

A: Makes perfect sense. Many bishops have given a similar permission to deacons who cannot kneel during the consecration at the mass.
