Q: Our parish is inviting parishioners to pray the 9 day novena to the Holy Spirit starting after Ascension. As a visual reminder of preparation for Pentecost, we are adding some red to our side and sanctuary white Easter banners, starting on Ascension. Is there any reason this early addition of red to the Easter environment should not be done?
Thank you for your expertise and support.
A: There are precious few rules governing environmental color. As long as it looks beautiful and helps people pray, you should be fine.
