Rebaptism

In Paul Turner's Blog by Paul Turner

Q: I have been researching the topic of ‘re-baptizing’ because an RCIA Candidate, although validly baptized, really wants to be baptized in the Catholic Church.

I have explained the concept of one baptism, as well as used the Catechism and Canon Law.  But I found a Q/A on a website that says it would be a sin.

Can you please speak to this?  Thank you for all you do!  Have a God-filled day.

A: I’m not in a position to judge the sinfulness of the case, but you may try explaining that the Catholic Church universally does not permit rebaptism, so the decision is out of your hands.

Keep stressing the beauty of the baptism this person has received.
