I wanted to add a little insight to that as my experience as an Episcopalian, within Methodism, and as an Anglican included a recessional hymn with singing not just music. Hope this helps a bit. 

In my Episcopal upbringing, we did not dare to leave until after the postlude by our Organist. After the hymn, we would sit again.
