Q: I know that in the past only sacramental wine from church-approved sources with no additives, tannins was allowed for Mass wine, and the percentage of alcohol was also listed in the requirements. It appears that now ‘just’ wine is allowed. I assume other than grape wine there are now no restrictions as to approved sellers and/or alcohol percentages. is that correct?

A: For mass we must use grape wine with no additives. Any wine from any seller who meets that restriction is acceptable.
Some dioceses have established regional requirements, but I have seen no universal legislation pertaining to alcoholic percentages.
