Q: What should be done if a 12 year old elect was unable to make it to the first scrutiny? Does that mean they won’t be able to do their sacraments this year at the Easter Vigil?

A: When dealing with children of catechetical age, the OCIA requires only one scrutiny. A second may be added (294). The scrutiny gospels for adults are not required, and the scrutiny for children may be celebrated at any time
