Shortening mass

In Paul Turner's Blog by Paul Turner

Q: At the request of the pastor, I am looking to “trim” the weekend liturgies to 45 minutes.

I don’t want to speak the Gloria, but most sung Gloria’s take more time.
During the Easter season is it possible to have a modified ( I don’t know what that would look like) Sprinkling Rite which would be much shorter and call us into our baptism?

A: During the pandemic, we are all making decisions we would rather not make, but they are all for the greater good.

To shorten the sprinkling rite, the presider does not need to leave the sanctuary. He can stand in one place and sprinkle, much as a thurifer does when incensing the congregation.

To shorten the Gloria, it may be recited.
