Silence

Q: Thank you, as ever, for your blog posts, which provide so much guidance, wisdom, expertise, food for thought, and pastoral suggestions. I always recommend that people sign up to receive them.

I’ve been meaning for some time to respond to your post on silence with a link to a document produced for England and Wales by Martin Foster (on behalf of our Bishops’ Conference Department for Christian Life & Worship), in which he gathered references to silence from several sources.I often recommend that people search for topics in GIRM and our national “Celebrating the Mass”(http://www.liturgyoffice.org.uk/Resources/GIRM/Documents/CTM.pdf), but sometimes it’s good to have everything together in one place, and this document provides an opportunity for reflection (and maybe discussion in a parish) as well as just listing those references. http://www.liturgyoffice.org.uk/Resources/Preparation/Silence.pdf
