Solemnities

Q: March sees 2 Solemnities, but not of precept.

I understand that an anticipatory (or proper vigil) Mass is celebrated on the evening before solemnities of precept.

But what of other solemnities? For example, must the Mass for the Annunciation be celebrated in the evening of 3/24?May that Mass be used?

A: To my knowledge, there is no rule concerning the Mass, though there is for the office. First vespers (Evening Prayer I) is to be celebrated the evening preceding a solemnity.

I guess you could argue from that that Mass of the solemnity could then follow that evening, but surely the preference is for the Mass to be celebrated on the day of the solemnity proper.
