Training for servers

In Paul Turner's Blog by Paul Turner

I have been asked to provide server training to our partner parish.  It has been a long time since they have had a formal training for servers (well before I was assigned).  Our parish priest and I have noticed some bad habits that have crept into the servers that should be addressed and corrected in an appropriately pastoral fashion.

With that in mind, is there a definitive resource for the roles of the server in the Churches of the United States?

If such a resource doesn’t exist, would the Roman Missal be the “go to” source for how servers should serve?

As usual, thank you for your abundant knowledge and willingness to share it.

A: Here’s a book I coauthored for servers:

It has adult and teen servers in mind, but it would give you good guidance for kids.
