Two masses at the same time

Q: Thank you for your dedication to this ministry and congratulations on your Vatican appointment!
Is it permitted to have two masses on Saturday (for the Sunday liturgy) celebrated at the same time, at the same church just in different rooms?

One mass is for the “general” population and the other mass is for a specific group of individuals.

A: As far as I know two Masses in two different places at the same time is OK, but obviously not ideal and should be avoided as a regular practice. The Vatican recently restricted the number of Masses being celebrated inside St. Peter’s Basilica  https://press.vatican.va/content/salastampa/en/bollettino/pubblico/2021/06/22/210622f.html .

That would give you some guidance for a decision in your situation.
