Q: The 10 October 2026 post had the question: “Concerning the Universal Prayer, where does the response “Lord, hear our prayer” come from? It’s not in the missal.”
But it is in the Roman Missal, Appendix I, page 1500 of the CTS edition. The page with “Lord, hear our prayer” is on the ICEL website at https://icelweb.org/musicfolder/PrayerFaithful.pdf . It is one of the responses in option C.

FWIW, that is one of two English translations for the same Latin response at option C. The second, “Lord, have mercy,” is a more faithful translation of Domine, miserere. The first was probably included out of common usage and nowhere else to put it.
