Q: Hello Father. As a Deacon, I have a vigil/rosary I will be doing. In looking at the latest rite book for funerals in the vigil section I see no clarity on what, if any, Alb/stole I should wear. I assume that since it is silent, normal clerical clothing would suffice. Is that how you read it.

A: You’re right. The vesture is not specified and your choice would be fine.
When I preside for a vigil service at a funeral home, I usually wear my clergy suit. If the vigil service is at church, I usually wear alb and stole. But there’s no rule.
