Q: Recently I received an online ad for a new edition/rite of Anointing of the Sick…
I am mindful of the updates in recent times of OCIA texts, and most recently of Holy Communion and Eucharistic Worship Outside of Mass…
Were revisions/tweaking done as well with Sacrament of the Sick?
I seem to remember something but can’t quite place it. Are there any other books coming forth that I have not mentioned here?
Appreciate your input, as always.

A: Indeed, the book for the anointing of the sick is due out now with a new English translation. The books will become available at the first of the year, we may start using them on Feb 11, and must use them by April 5, 2026.
The biggest change is to the outline of the book, which will now follow the Latin typical edition paragraph by paragraph. I really think everything will still be findable.
I’m finishing a commentary on it for Liturgical Press. Watch for an opportunity to pre-order that too.
We have no other new ritual books coming imminently.
