Baptism

Q: I’m a deacon and I have two questions about baptism:

One of my parishioners wants me to baptize her grandchildren, who live out of state. What’s required for me to do that?

Are baptisms allowed are Easter Sunday?

A: For the first question, use pastoral judgment. I would talk to the PARENTS, not the grandmother. Is it the will of the parents to have this baptism? Are they registered in a parish? Have they completed baptism prep there? Could the parish please send me some information verifying the membership and their readiness to have their child baptized?

For the second question, absolutely yes. Easter Sunday makes a great day to baptize.
