Q: I have someone who was baptized and confirmed in the Anglican Church – the church he has attended has confessions and Eucharist.
He has attended Catholic Mass with his wife for many years and is knowledgeable about the Roman Catholic faith. Is there anything different in the catechesis from others baptized in other Christian denominations?

A: He probably does not need much formation. This is the kind of question I’m answering in my new book with Lit Press.
I would go over the Creed, the basics of Catholic formation, and ensure that the person is ready. Then I’d receive him into the full communion of the Church at some upcoming Sunday Mass, if he were agreeable to that.
My new book Full Communion with Us is available now for preorder from Liturgical Press. It’s an in-depth analysis of many pages of the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) and will serve as a practical resource for those ministering to already-baptized candidates. When writing this book, I wanted to provide guidance that takes seriously both the liturgical rites and the Catholic Church’s ecumenical commitments.
I hope this resource will help you in your ministry. Through September 15, you can use the code TURNER25 at checkout when you preorder to get 20% off.
