Communion of the sick

In Paul Turner's Blog by Paul Turner

Do you agree that replying to a lay minister “And with your spirit” is not permitted for Communion of the sick?

The liturgical book Holy Communion and the Worship of the Eucharist Outside of Mass has:
“54. A priest or deacon administers communion or viaticum to the sick in the manner prescribed by the Rite of Anointing and Pastoral Care of the Sick. When an acolyte or an extraordinary minister, duly appointed, gives communion to the sick, the rite here described is followed.”

The rite that follows has a greeting, “Peace to this house and to all who live in it”,  but there is no response.

Pastoral Care of the Sick has the Vatican’s approval date of 7 December 1972. Holy Communion and theWorship of the Eucharist Outside of Mass has the Vatican’s approval date of 21 June 1973.
