Convalidation

In Paul Turner's Blog by Paul Turner

Q: Do you set out the rite in any of your books for doing a convalidation ceremony?

==

A: Well, the ceremony uses the same texts in force for a regular wedding. Most couples want to celebrate with just a few people in attendance and apart from mass, but the priest or deacon still follows the regular ceremony from the Order of Celebrating Matrimony.

You’ll find a brief response about convalidations in my book, The Catholic Wedding Answer Book. Otherwise, look at the detailed commentary on weddings without mass that I wrote in Inseparable Love.I also have a bulletin insert that will soon be available within a larger collection from Liturgy Training Publications.
