Easter Vigil Lights

In Paul Turner's Blog by Paul Turner

Q: Hello Fr. Paul, always enjoy your blog and the questions submitted to it. There was a question on which I’d love your input. A comment has been made that the lights of the church should be turned on when the Paschal Candle is placed in its stand after the final Light of Christ/Thanks be to God exchange, prior to the Exsultet. We thought it was prescribed later on in the liturgy. When is the prescribed time for the church lights to be turned on at Easter Vigil?

A: Here’s an earlier post: https://paulturner.org/lights-at-easter-vigil/.

The Missal calls for the Exsultet to be proclaimed in the full brightness of a lighted church.
