Q: Some priests expect their congregation to stand immediately on the invitation ‘Pray brothers and sisters that my sacrifice and yours…..’ other priests expect the standing to occur only as the congregation begins their response. The GIRM seems to direct the latter.
A: Actually, the GIRM says it both ways. GIRM 43 says that they stand from the invitation itself. Personally, I prefer it that way.
