Q: After a requiem mass in my part of the U.K. we are attending more services in crematoria and the choice of music is predominantly secular with songs and artists being a preference of the deceased. Whilst I generally do not voice an opinion in regard to this should the music be of a religious nature as we are still in a religious service?

A: This may be really hard to control, but if you are leading prayers from the Order of Christian Funerals, then yes, these should be religious pieces that lift the mind and heart to God.
Secular music meaningful to the deceased and to the family would fittingly take place at a meal following the interment.
