Q: In light of the recent clarifications from the Vatican I thought I better ask this. I have an RCIA person who was baptized in a non-denominational church. She said they had a pool that she got in and they dunked her 3 times. She doesn’t remember explicitly what they said. What do you think? Should we baptize her?

A: I’d first make sure there’s no other way to find out what words were said. Is she still in touch with anyone who witnessed the baptism? With the minister? Has someone contacted the church to ask about their baptismal formula?
If the formula cannot be proved, and if the person were agreeable to it, I would probably assume invalidity in this case and baptize her absolutely.
