Q: Is it permissible for us to read Year A readings even at Masses where the scrutiny is not taking place? This weekend the same priest has all Sunday Masses including one Mass where the scrutiny is taking place. For homiletic reasons, it would be easier if all readings that Sunday are the same, however, we would prefer that the readings at the scrutiny mass are Year A.
As a side, I would rather read the Year B readings at the Masses where the scrutiny is not taking place. But I know it is difficult to prepare two homilies.

A: The missal seems to imply no, but the lectionary seems to imply yes. See the Introduction to the Lectionary #97.
