Q: Am I correct that you may not have relics with the Blessed Sacrament at adoration/veneration of relics? I need to give our committee this information and I can’t remember where I found it.

A: I don’t spot anything explicitly forbidding the veneration of relics during exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, but it does not seem in keeping with the liturgy. The Directory on Popular Piety and the Liturgy says, “Gradually, the faithful should be encouraged not to do other devotional exercises during exposition of the Blessed Sacrament” (165).
