Q: We use a large mounted TV screen to project the lyrics for songs during the Liturgy. We also stream live on Facebook every Sunday. Recently, we’ve discussed using the screen to communicate upcoming events to the assembly. However, we can’t find any guidelines that address the use of the screen in the time just prior to Mass. We are aware that the time prior to Mass is used to gather us together as a worshipping community. Thanks for any insight you can provide on the appropriate use of our screen prior to Mass.

A: I don’t know of any guidelines either, but what you propose is reasonable.
Liturgically, it makes more sense to post notices of upcoming events when announcements would usually take place following the prayer after communion. You are inviting people nourished by the eucharist to find ways to put the Christian life into practice.
