I have a question that I have had right through Seminary and subsequent studies without being able to find an answer or anyone with an answer.
I am wondering if there is a source which describes how the Church came to the choices of the readings in the Lectionary, particularly for weekday Masses. Eg for instance, why are we reading from Samuel at the moment and why these particular choices at this stage of the liturgical year ?
