Q: I just had a question about Mass times on Christmas Eve . . . Is it permissible to have a Christmas Eve Mass (Dec 24th) at 2pm? If not, could permission be obtained? Thanks for you help.

A: That is permissible. But if you do it as a parish Mass, I think you’ll find that many people who show up will count it for their Mass of obligation, which it is not. In my experience, some will do that even if you offer it at 8 a.m. on the 24th.
