New lectionary translation

A: I pray this message finds you well! I heard a rumor that we have a new lectionary translation coming in a few years; is that true? A quick Google search didn’t bring anything up for me.

God Bless

A: Don’t clear any shelf space yet.

When the current lectionary for the US came out in 1998, it did not yet include any revisions to the New Testament of the NABRE. It also made some revisions to the NABRE to make it more suitable for liturgical proclamation. Eventually we’re going to see a translation of both Testaments into which some liturgical adjustments (such as the traditional English translation of the Lord’s Prayer) have been retrofitted.

Then we’ll see a revised lectionary based on that bible.
