| Q: At our parish for all masses, Sunday and daily, the sacristans wear an alb. I don’t understand why. Lectors and EM’s do not. What am I missing? Thank you |

A: GIRM 119c allows “other ministers” besides the priest and deacon to wear an alb. It does not specify who they are or what they do. GIRM 105a says a sacristan exercises “a liturgical function.”
If the sacristan is considered a liturgical minister, he or she may wear one.
