Q: I have a question: is it right that the church is going to use the new edition of Order of Christian Funeral book in the liturgy and that is this new copy the official one for using in the Americas or we will have another one coming? Please clarify for me. Thanks.

A: The new editions are updating the language to match similar places in the missal. When you greet the people, the new OCF has them respond “And with your spirit.” The reader finishes with “The Word of the Lord” instead of “This is the Word of the Lord.” Capitalizations in the new OCF will match those in the missal. The changes are minimal, but helpful. You may keep using the old book, but you may buy the new one if you want.
